Parktown High School for Girls, situated in Parkview, offers a very special experience which encourages young women to “Reach for the Stars”. The school is set in quiet, attractive grounds and maintains a healthy balance of tradition, discipline and a progressive approach to contemporary education.
The curriculum has a strong academic focus on the Humanities, Mathematics and Sciences. We consistently achieve excellent results in the matriculation examinations, with more than 97% of our girls qualifying for bachelor degree studies at university.
A wide range of sporting and extra-curricular activities are available. Staff and qualified specialist coaches supervise these activities. Girls are encouraged to use the library and computer facilities during the afternoons.
Leadership skills are developed through opportunities to participate in the Representative Council of Learners (RCL), Youth Community Development programme (YCD), Community Outreach projects and school committees. Entrepreneurship is encouraged through participation in activities such as the traditional Potted Sports (which raises funds for charity), School Fun Day and the annual Market Day. Educators are well-qualified and very approachable, offering a variety of teaching and learning opportunities as well as mentorship for girls at every level.
