Fukuoka toer verslag 1 – Monument Hoërskool

Hallo Almal daar by die huis in geliefde Suid-Afrika.

Die toer slogan is NO EXCUSES.

We just loved the Bella Vista Hotel. We would have liked to stay a little longer.

Cairo was interesting but we were shocked to see the level of pollution and the mistreated animals.

The food was amazing! We couldn’t believe how many pastries and breads were available.

Our guides were amazing and we would recommend them any time.

We would also recommend this tour to our friends and family – the coastal areas especially.

Arthur Johnson Sports Week

On the 30th March, Leon and I set off to rainy Mossel Bay to attend the Arthur Johnson Sports week, organized by Punt High School. The turnout was great with many schools joining, some as far away as Lesotho. The Friday night was an orientation where everyone had a chance to meet the other coaches and organizers and get settled in.

Saturday morning started off with a bang and the rugby was in full swing. The weather suddenly cleared up and it turned out to be a beautiful day. Training for netball and hockey took up the morning with matches in the afternoon. The support was incredible and spirits were high as the schools battled it out on the fields.

After a restful Sunday everyone was refreshed and strong for the matches on Monday along with the training. Some amazing rugby was played in the morning and there was a lot of running in between the hockey and netball games in the afternoon. Tuesday was yet another day of action packed sport by the students and support was overwhelming.

The students showed amazing sportsmanship and talent and over all it was an incredibly successful week where friendships were made, knowledge was gained and all round fun was had.

Congratulations to the organizers and we look forward to seeing you again next year.
